I know there are some minor flaws(Or possibly major ones), but I just had to tell myself to stop cause I have to do homework and this was consuming too much of my time haha. I would love to hear suggestions though on how to make this stronger, especially with the color. The piece holds alot of meaning to me as it expresses the one quality I know about myself that I can genuinely be proud of and the reasons why it is so important for me to succeed and how much is on the line.
Gregorious!
ReplyDeleteI like this piece man, the shot is definitely nice. I know you said you're pressed on time so you couldnt go as far as you wanted... which imo filling up the bg a bit more will really flesh out the overall feel and bring out even more mood to the piece. I respect the message as far as how important it is to you. Color choice is odd to me... especially the warmth in the bg against the cool sky... id put more cool on the ground... greens maybe... trees, grass etc. Also one thing that is bothering me is the two guys at the far back holding the paper over head... their distance from your character at the front doesnt make sense in terms of scale and proportion considering the size of the steps directly underneath them. its almost as if their feet are huge compared to the tiny steps. Other than that... i really dig this piece bud. GJ
Dang! So Bibly Disney! The piece looks great, it just is so cheezy. Good work.
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot, it has a good feel to it. I think the story reads well and i like the composition. My only crit is that if you had more time I'd want you to render it out some more. good job.
ReplyDeletewow this is super epic and it feels honest. Defiantly a personal journey, it is very psychologically relieving piece. I do have to agree with Jeff in the sense that it feels cheezy. I feel that that has to do with the color scheme, line work, and airbrush-like ghosts in the background. Overall an ambitious illustration.
ReplyDeletethere are def scales issues with the dudes in the BG. I like the cartoony feel to this one. The sky feels too warm and it does not look finshed. Also the clouds could use some work it looks like the background is airbrush heavy....i dont know why but this looks like it could almost be a screen shot from a Miyazaki film with alittle more work.
ReplyDeleteso i got to say you did a great job in composition wise although i do have one thing that is bothering which is the sun on the left. its redish color doesnt go well with the cool sky that you have going there. it seems to me that it looks like you wanted to create a sunset which i know you didnt. i know you didnt have a lot of time to complete this but i do have suggestions if you plan on to. i think your background needs some detail it looks too flat maybe ad some trees of details of the mountains just to give it some depth, but overall i like it. great job Greg
