  2. Pig cops and doughnut shops? come on Tom your better then that, thats so cliche man. Thats as bad as tentacle monsters. lol Anyway your perspective is looking half assed, the VP of your road is above the skyscrapers in the distance, unless thats what you were going for? Though I do like the composition you have.

  4. First off chris you do alot of crits and half ass Is not constructive at all watch your mouth. SecondLy post!!! Clinche we'll this is suposed to be sometthing from your past if you know me when you were still in diapers watching roli poli oli I was out at night doing what is depicted in the scene it actually helped shape me as an artist today. You can check my credentials. Back when I was a teenager I was a rebelous youth and as wrong as it is that is how I veiwed the authorities. If you have not had guns pulled on you while you were armed with only paint then you don't know where I am comming from. This piece is a throw back and I am working on another. So again keep the crits constructive. Thanks

  7. hmmm well lets see.*In a serious tone* Well Tom, the composition is very nice, I particularly enjoy the foreground element and the distance you were able to achieve in the background. I feel as though you could have established a stronger understanding of perspective considering it would have made the piece that much stronger. I also feel as though the pig cop and doughnut shop are a little to cliche and that you could supported those same ideas with something a little more unique.

  8. rofl. I know what you're saying Tom, as though it may be cliche in the media, it was reality for you back in the day.

The problem that I have is that the entire left side of your body isn't supported at all, and looks like you should be falling down. Perhaps if you placed your left leg on the stairs and shot out your other leg far enough to get that push in silhouette it would work better(Although the image would suffer a bit, it'll look more realistic in the end which I think is worth the sacrifice)

Now of course there's obvious perspective issues. Probably you should just make this an abstract piece and really go all out in distorting the entire piece so you are still able to get the composition you want without having the obvious pointing out of what's wrong. You could do this in a realistic manner but I'd rather show you in person that describe it in text.

  9. Tom

I like what you did in terms of concept. I respect where you are coming from in terms of personal experience and as you said in the briefing for this weeks concept "tell a story based on something in your life etc etc. " So if this is your story and it has a direct relation with how you viewed cops back in the day than thats that and i think you're getting that across just fine.

Like others mentioned the biggest issue is perspective... but based on how youve mentioned in other posts that perspective if your archenemy... id say Gregs distortion suggestion would benefit you and strengthen your piece. But to me this isnt even a hard fix... the biggest issue is the road pointing up and the donut shop clashing with that direction as it follows a vanishing point that is way lower than the one the road goes to.... just fixing both those to follow one vanishing point will certainly improve the overall feel of the image.

  10. I agree with [kclubz], I really like the angle of the camera. I really think that the figure, billboard and city scape would hold there own by them selves. Re adjustment of the composition would be necessary, but worth it I think. Having the pig cop there is kind of self explanatory, I mean if your a tagger you already know cops are pigs, right lol. If it were me, I would Isolate the tagger, and correct the perspective on the street, the street sign and the building. I think this could be achieved simply by using 3d software, if you dont feel like plotting out all of your lines. But it sounds like you are truly done with this one, perhaps a series?
