wow, I love the brush work in this piece. great job on defining shape through strong strokes. Looking at this up close was lots of fun. The composition as a whole is lacking. Adding forground and background elements will help this a lot. Let us see all the other unfortunate creatures that have been captured and sucked dry. The spider has a mechanical structure. Play with that by working some of it's elements into the BG. This is a great start! Did you use painter of PS? Those brush strokes look great.
Thanks for the input. Yeah, I just started sketching and pushing the pallette knife brush (Painter) around and see what would happen. I really need to start planning things out as a practice.
love the look of this guy, reminds me of this crazy spider Ive seen before. Really digging the expressive strokes as well. Also digging your color choices, there settle but they read so well, like many of the pieces you've posted. Also really liking the design of the web. I think if anything I would add some more eyeballs on the face of the spider, but I geuss thats a design choice, not that yours doesnt work just fine.
love the painterly feel to this one....a very nice direction and you are staring to nail painter....lovin the loose strokes the color choices work well too...keep posting that magic!
