Here's my go

So I googled mother goose and decided to base mine off of the 1980s syndicate tv show Mother goose & grimm(name could be wrong lol). Anyways, here is my take on it. WALAM! lol

  3. Nice concept! I like how abstract the design of the main shape is and the stylization of the animals. What motivated the different color choices?

Originally I wanted the viewer to focus on the face, then get caught by the hand and follow the main outline of the body so it would lead to the cat, the cat would lead to the arm holding the book, eventually landing the viewer on the dog. If I had made the dog light yellow like I originally planned, it would throw off the composition I had in mind, so I decided to make him blue(Except a bit darker cause he looked like a cutout on the goose bc of the bg color). That's why I made the cat yellow(Or chihuaha haha). Critiques are more than welcome though, I'd love to know how I could make this a stronger piece.

  5. I actually really like it. What if you brought up the intensity of the yellow (playing up a dominant complimentary contrast) in the beak to create more of a first read off the purple though? The face was harder for me to begin with as a first read and this might help the viewer to start there. I also think the color composition is a little undecided and it may help pull this together.

  6. Try to adjust your image size so when you open it up it fits the whole image on the screen.

  7. Yeah that's a good idea for the beak. I'm thinking about moving the door a bit more to the left to help frame the face. Yeah I was thinking about value at first and didn't want to have the beak the same value of the face but I know what you're talking about, it doesn't really mesh well with the color choices that I made.(I especially don't like how the foot looks next to the dress) I'll post this back up soon again.

  8. I love this. Very interesting shapes and a lot of thought is evident in the composition. The shadow in the window? and her cast chadow bother me. I feel they are too strong in contrast. But I would be curious to see if changing that would unify the piece too much. They simply catch my eye too much.....and would want the focal point to be stronger.
